Still suffering wedding fever? I certainly am around here so join me.
Following their affectionate and emotional wedding ceremony, and the post-service reception hosted by the Queen, the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the guests of honor at an evening reception at Frogmore House, hosted by Prince Charles.
The Duke and Duchess were spotted departing for their evening reception in a 1968 Jaguar convertible, with the groom nattily attired in a tux and the bride in a sleek shift by Stella McCartney (also reportedly the designer behind her mother Doria’s reception attire.)
Guests were reportedly offered slippers to wear (very kind as feet do ache after hours of wearing heels.) While there was no media allowed at either reception, some guests were kind enough to the rest of us to take to their Instagram and/or Twitter accounts to post pics of themselves.
After having just a few days to themselves, and being snapped as they returned to Kensington Palace, Harry and Meghan made their first official appearance today in London as husband and wife at a Buckingham Palace garden party hosted in honor of Prince Charles’ upcoming 70th birthday.
While the Duchess bucked convention during her engagement announcement last November by electing to bypass the usually royalty-required pantyhose (and who can blame her?) for her first royal appearance, she went full-on Duchess mode. With her now-royal hair in a crisp side chignon, Meghan donned a Goat dress of pink and taupe silk crepe called the Flavia. Don’t get any designs on snatching up your own Flavia – – the dress reportedly sold out within hours of the Duchess being spotted in it. Doesn’t this remind you of Princess Diana, whose endorsement of British fashion caused them to fly off the shelves?
Meghan’s groom wore a morning suit with a vest in complimentary color to her dress and carried a hat and umbrella. It is London, after all!
I can’t find any information on the outfit Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is wearing. It does appear to be in a shade of mint green (a popular color at the royal wedding) and the Duchess of Cornwall is wearing a choker of pearls and another of her fabulous hats. I’m so jealous – – I wish hats were a bigger thing here in the States.
If anyone has information on Camilla’s outfit, please feel free to comment.
